Eileens back in Edinburgh now and has been for a while. I'm her brother and got to say she can still belt out a huge volume from her wee frame though the peroxide mop has long since gone :)

I saw them when they played on FSD in the 80's. They played a song called Taste the Pavement. It sounded fantastic! I just wish I could get hold of it.

As an Edinburgh lad I hold this single in great esteem. A fine band and a fantastic single. The A-side is a ripper.

Funny that I should find it on a Melbourne website as I now live in the great city and have done since 1998.

Hello stranger! This is Kris from the two piece Jains! Still hard at work making music even now in 2010... after "Kill the Ghost" we released "Goddess in You" a few years later and now just last week, on April 2nd, we realeased our third "Holy Changing Spirit!", this time with an indie label from London England - Acid Cobra Records. We still haven't made the big step out of Italy but that would be our ultimate goal... I suppose we're lacking in the right contacts! Can we send you out our new relaese to see what you think?? It was a great surprise to find your write up! Send me an address (lost track over the years) and I'll drop it in the mail...
Keep it real,
Kris ***

I saw the band a few times in the 80s in Edinburgh, they were great live, Eileen had a huge voice and they made a tremendous wall of sound in some of the tiny bars. Lost touch with them after they went to London, but the three of them - Eileen, Rita, and Alan - were great people.

Hey guys!
I was the guitar player in peyote!
This is really cool to see some evidence of us actually existing haha!
We were from sydney's northern beaches not from newcastle, im now a record producer and sasha is a touring drummer living in los angeles! the other 2 lads havent really played since!
we had a record deal with mushroom records for about 2 years, 1994-1996 the band split up due to internal differences, but we enjoyed many national tours and absolutely loved playing music!
WOW
thanks!
